BJJ academy affiliation
Keep your academy's name.
Master Carlos Machado, 8th Degree Coral Belt, 55+ years on the mat. Rated 5.0 from 16 owner reviews on Google.
For the owner who wants the jiu-jitsu to be the real thing
You run your own academy. You want what's taught on your mat to come from one complete system, with a lineage behind it you're proud to put on the wall.
You also want the academy to stay yours. Your name on the door, your prices, your class times.
If your academy has fewer than 15 students in total, the Outpost tier was built for you. If you want business training for yourself too, that starts at Affiliate.
Seminars, videos and what you remember
That's how a lot of owners build their jiu-jitsu. A technique from one seminar. A sequence from a saved video. Next week's classes planned the night before.
It works until it doesn't. Techniques get taught out of order, and the gaps show up at promotion time. A student asks a question you can't answer, and there's no one to call.
How joining works
-
Step 1
Book a call with the association director.
Tell us about your academy when you book. Roger Perez walks you through each tier on the call.
-
Step 2
Choose your tier and start.
Pick Outpost, Affiliate or Official Academy, month to month. The curriculum opens in the members' area.
-
Step 3
Teach it and train with Master Carlos.
Teach the monthly curriculum, bring your questions to the weekly call, and bring your team to the events.
What members get
- A new Gi and No-Gi curriculum every month, in four tracks: Adult Gi, Adult No-Gi, Youth Gi and Youth No-Gi. October's release carried 11 Gi lessons and 11 No-Gi lessons.
- A separate self-defence course, Self-Defense Fundamentals: 90 lessons over 30 weeks.
- A live call with Master Carlos every week.
- Member pricing on the association's events, held twice a year.
- A closed group for member owners, and wholesale pricing on gear.
- From the Affiliate tier up, you also get business sessions at events, a monthly owners' Zoom, a monthly business Zoom and a protected territory.

Owner questions
Do I keep my academy's name?
Yes. Outpost and Affiliate members keep their own name. If you want the Machado name on your academy, that's Official Academy status, the top tier.
Do I have to change my prices or class times?
No. You keep your own pricing and your own schedule. The association gives you the curriculum and the call.
Is this a franchise?
No. Your academy stays yours. You pay a monthly fee for the right to teach the curriculum, and there's no yearly contract.
Is Master Carlos actually on the weekly call?
Yes. The weekly live call is with Master Carlos Machado. Members bring their questions and he answers them.
Where do the lessons live?
In the members' area. New Gi and No-Gi lessons open there every month, across all four tracks.
Which tier fits a small academy?
Outpost is built for academies with fewer than 15 students in total. It carries the full curriculum and the weekly call.
What happens on the call?
Roger Perez, the association director, walks you through each tier before you choose.
Stop rebuilding the curriculum on your own
Without a system, each class depends on what the instructor remembers that week. Members open a new curriculum every month and put their questions to Master Carlos every week.
Book a call with Roger Perez, the association director. He'll walk you through each tier.
