Why the association exists
Most owners build their classes from seminars, videos and what they remember. Some weeks it works. Some weeks it doesn't.
The Machado Method is one complete curriculum. It's taught in order, one month at a time, so your instructors aren't rebuilding it the night before class.
It started on a mat in Rio
Rio de Janeiro. A boy, the eldest of five brothers, trains under his uncle, Grandmaster Carlos Gracie Sr.
That boy is Carlos Machado. In 1981 he started teaching jiu-jitsu, and he hasn't stopped.

From Rio to Texas, and on to your academy

Born in Rio de Janeiro, the eldest of five brothers.

His students carry the line on. Pete Jeffrey trained his whole career in the Machado line, first under one of Master Carlos's first black belts. Today he's a first degree black belt under Master Carlos himself.
And it runs through the association. The directory lists 116 locations in four countries, and every member academy gets the same curriculum each month.
